Summer Chic

It's officially summer vacation! Life is business as usual for this corporate girl, but I did go on a short and sweet trip out to Atlantic Canada over the long weekend. If you've never been to the East Coast, you need to make the trip. It was pretty incredible!

Though I'm from Canada, I really haven't travelled domestically very often, so when a friend of mine accepted a summer job in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to visit and make a trip out of it. As you can imagine, I have plenty of photos to sift through, and I'll be sharing some with you soon.

Oh, and if you were wondering where I've been,  my vacation is the reason behind for the my blogging hiatus. Oh, and now I'm home sick with a summer cold. Not to worry, I'm back, and working on some really exciting blog-related projects that I'll be sharing with you in the next little while!

In the meantime, I wanted to share an outfit I wore just before heading out east. The outfit features my denim shorts, since I live in these during the summer. I have a couple variations on this style from Gap, and they're basically perfect for everyday wear. I love that they're not too short, they come in great washes, they fit well, and aren't too sloppy to wear to work. 

Recently, I channelled my inner hippie and wore them with my tie dye tank and a wide hair band. In order to feel a bit more polished, I threw on my favourite white blazer and called that an outfit. Of course, the blazer was mostly for indoor wear, since local business love blasting the air conditioning when it's warm out. #firstworldproblems
