What a week!! I was feeling a little bit "off" this past weekend, and sure enough, wound up sick with a summer cold. I'm finally starting to feel better, but it's never fun to be sick. The only good that came out of it was that I finally had some time to sort through my vacation photos!
I like to take a lot of photos when I travel, especially because I'm still having so much fun with my camera. It's great to look at the photos after the fact, but sorting through them can be really daunting. I'm going to share my absolute favourites (including what I wore) with you here and on my blog's Facebook page.
My friend and I flew into New Brunswick, so we spent our first day there. We decided to go hiking at the Bay of Fundy National Park. The only other time I've visited a National Park was back in the winter, when I visited the Grand Canyon. That was such a great experience, so I expected this one to be just as great.
Before hiking, we visited a small town to fuel up on lobster for lunch. It was incredibly fresh, and since we were in a fishing village, I'd like to think the lobster had been caught that morning. You can tell from the photo of the "aftermath," that we thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
The hike was challenging, but it was breathtaking. There was a lot of uphill climbing and the terrain was tough, but we pushed through, knowing that at the end of the trail, we'd see a gorgeous coastline.
The coast didn't disappoint. It was pristine! We got there when the tide was almost at its low, so the rock and seaweed that were exposed looked like something from another planet. We spent some time climbing across the giant boulders and just took it all in.
The hike back to the car was a bit tougher, since we were already pretty tired, but it was 100% worth it. I have a Fitbit tracker, and apparently, the hike was over 8 miles and the equivalent of climbing over 90 flights of stairs. Not too shabby!

Sorry to hear you caught a summer cold - I keep getting sick too. I think it's because it's so hot outside but the air conditioning inside is blasting and the temperature difference is so extreme. Glad to hear you're feeling better though.
ReplyDeleteThat said, wow these photos are beautiful! Hiking sounds like a lot of fun!
