I always wait until I'm actually going to wear something before I rip the tag off of a new article of clothing. For me, it's part of the excitement of wearing something new. It needs to feel new in order to complete the experience of "newness." Do I sound crazy, or are we on the same page here?? (Wait. Don't answer that).
I'm usually pretty excited to wear anything new, so it's unusual that I let anything sit with the tags on in the closet for too long. The only exception is when I buy something out of season, which doesn't happen too often.
However, back in February, I bought a few spring pieces, just before my trip to Punta Cana. I ended up wearing almost everything I bought, except for one skirt. It's not that I didn't like the skirt, but it was almost too "nice" to wear down there, since the beach atmosphere is pretty casual.
I really don't know why, but it was only recently that I finally decided to wear it for the first time. My friend and I were heading downtown to a client's party, and it just felt like the right occasion. Of course, I had to wear it with those black peep toe booties that I've been wearing non-stop (see here and here).
The plan is to wear the skirt more often than every 5 months. I'll let you know how that goes!

This outfit is really well pulled together, I love the colour combination. The skirt is far too beautiful to only be pulled out once every five months :-P

I totally do that too Jackie! I do not cut off the tag until I wear it. Glad I'm not the only one LOL but you're right, it just adds to the experience! I'm weird too where sometimes I buy something I really like, I wait to wear it for a special occasion, and then it ends up being a month and I ask myself what in the heck am I waiting for?! Anyways, I am glad you finally brought this skirt out! So girly and pretty. I can see it being a versatile piece for sure! xo
