Pinking of You

What a week it's been!

I've had requests and opportunities flying my way at work this week, which is awesome...but makes me wonder if I should consider a second coffee during the day.

Right now, I'm working on a project with a very design focused client, who's in the midst of re-branding. They realized there were some materials they should have held onto in order to make some decisions, so on a whim, I decided to rush downtown and drop them off. It was the end of the day, so I figured I'd go home from from there.

But. Let me remind you of something. I don't actually live in Toronto!

I say that I'm from Toronto, because most of you aren't. The assumption is that if I mentioned the actual suburban town I live it, no one would have any idea what I was talking about. I think a lot of us do that.

Anyway, instead of my typical commute from Mid-town (which to me, it totally "the city"), I had to trek home from the west end of the downtown core. UGH. Just another reminder that I am so not a city person. Aside from having no clue where to find a subway stop when I'm slightly off the beaten path, it's just too crowded and chaotic for me! I never said I was your typical twenty-something, okay?

I act like an old woman sometimes, so maybe that's why I love grandfather cardigans so much? I picked up this one about a month ago, and have worn it a lot. It's the perfect transition piece and I see it being a great add on with shorts and a tank on a cool summer evening.

Photos were taken by my bestie - Samantha. Thanks for being my photographer!!

OUTFIT DETAILS:

Sweater - Forever 21 (Same) // Tee - Gap (Similar) // Jeans - Gap (Similar)

Do you ever get lost in your own city? This wasn't the first time I had to ask for directions and feel like such a tool!

  1. How big is Toronto? Our downtown in Covington, KY is small but I work in Cincinnati and it's larger. Cincinnati is only 15 blocks long by 8 blocks wide in downtown proper. I drive the van around so I know it like the back of my hand now. I quite love it but Cincinnati is very small town for being a main city!
Your pink cardi looks SO snuggly. It would be the perfect thing for a light layer on errand days. I need it. IT's pink!
Also your hair and tan are fab. I am super-duper jealous.

    1. Toronto is really big - the biggest in Canada!! I'm pretty sure it's bigger than Cinci...maybe more like Chicago? I should probably check my stats before I actually answer that.

Thanks, but I'm not THAT tan. I think the pink gives that illusion though.

  19. That cardigan is the cutest! I know all about commuting downtown and how much it sucks. I used to live in the burbs myself and I got fed up of the commute, so I decided to finally move downtown Toronto about a year ago. I still feel you on the subway though, its definitely too crowded.
