Old Faves

There's no arguing with the fact that new clothes and shoes are fun to wear.

I love the feeling of ripping off a price tag and throwing on something new. It's a thrill, and always most exciting at the beginning of a new season.

At the same time, I get a similar thrill when I pull something out of the closet that I haven't worn in a long time. I'm sure you all share that same feeling when you put on your old favourite wool sweater in fall, or tried and true boyfriend shorts in the summer. It's like reconnecting with an old friend!

Our weather has been all over the place recently (what else is new), so my outfit choices have been a bit sporadic. We've had a few warm days, which meant I needed to break out one of my warm weather dresses when it was mild last week.

There's one dress in particular that I've had in my closet for years. I got it at White House Black Market when I was still in school. It was probably a bit "old" for me at the time, but it has pockets, so I was sold. Now that I'm at a different place in my life, I actually love the dress even more, but it's only appropriate for warmer weather because of the material.

I've worn the dress a couple of time recently, once to work and again on the weekend with another seasonal favourite that I've had for years: My denim jacket.

OUTFIT DETAILS:

Dress - White House Black Market (Similar and Similar) // Jacket - Hudson (Similar
Purse - Stella & Dot (Same) // Booties - Brown's Shoes (Similar
Necklace -  Stella & Dot (Same), Bracelet - Stella & Dot (Similar)

Tell me - what's your favourite seasonal piece you can't wait to start wearing again?

  1. I have that necklace too but not that tote. I know a lot of blogger have the same stuff but you and I are constantly twinning! I almost never get a chance to wear mine on the blog though, I mostly wear it at work.
I love this dress, it totally cinches you in the right places. You have such a great figure! Sometimes I feel like boots paired with a dress are costume-y but these boots look lived in and loved, and they give it that effortless vibe. Very cute.

    1. It's so cool to see how different people style the same pieces. I also get ideas from seeing other people style things I already have. Oh, and it's funny you say the boots with a dress can be costume-y. I wore a similar combo the other day, and a few people thought I looked like a cowgirl. Whateverrr :P

    1. Aw, thank you so much! I actually do the sleeve roll based on a tutorial I saw once. It's the J.Crew sleeve roll like this :

  13. What a perfect dress for warmer weather! I can't say that I love ripping off the tags-- I put way too much thought into it every time. And pockets on dresses really are the best. I am so confused when I put a skirt or dress on and it doesn't have pockets! haha

  15. There's definitely something very special about putting on an old favorite... but like you said, there's also something gratifying about ripping off the tags of a new piece. The dress is so pretty on you, and I see why you kept it through the years. And pockets! Yes!! Specially on dresses!
