The temperature was in the low 50's yesterday, so I went for my first outdoor run of the season. It was amazing! I love having the option to run outside, because as much as I want to work out regularly, I just find it really hard to get myself into that gym. I know I'm not alone in that feeling.
I always get a good workout and leave completely drenched in sweat, but it's never fun to do cardio in the gym. Let's face it - there's nothing interesting about running on a treadmill. NOTHING. I watch TV, listen to music, do interval training, and all of the other tricks to pass the time, but it will never compare to the real thing.
Another way I've been embracing the warm(ish) temperatures is by rocking the bare legs, if wearing a maxi skirt counts. I say it counts!
I've only been a fan of the maxi skirt since last summer, so this was the first time I've ever styled it in cooler weather. I feel like it's an idea I'll continue playing around with...especially if it continues being too cold to show just a bit more leg.

Haha I'm so done with winter - I've seriously contemplated moving somewhere where the weather is nice year round. low 50s for spring shouldn't be allowed!
ReplyDeleteThat said, this outfit is so cute! Way to keep warm and bring spring into your wardrobe at the same time - the maxi skirt is a great idea and the scarf is such a lovely color! You look so pretty!

Honestly, if I was able to move somewhere warm, I would, but it's hard as a Canadian!
DeleteI'd take low 50's at this point...I woke up to snow this morning. Like, BIG flakes. That's what shouldn't be allowed :P
Lovely! So glad you're getting some warmer temperatures. I too just busted out my maxi skirts this past week!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely love your striped maxi skirt! It looks really great on you! Yes, finally the weather starts to get warmer <3

I know, laziness often wins, even though I try to fight it. It's always a struggle for me, but I'm less lazy when it's nice outside.

Even if under a maxi skirt, it still counts as bare legs!! Maxi skirts are pretty much the only skirt I'll wear with bare legs - I'm one of those people that has a thing about their legs. I've quite a bad varicose vein (made worse when pregnant) and I'm quite fair skinned so veiny in general. Honestly, I'm doing the general public a favour by keeping them under wraps. Haha!
ReplyDeleteAfter that tangent, lovely outfit - I like the scarf colour pop.

50's feels so warm after the cold winter. I've been skipping tights with skirts any chance I get :)
ReplyDeleteGreat look!
What a perfect way to transition! We had ONE day of high 70s weather and I threw my shorts on SO fast lol, now it's back to the 50's so I should probably be taking a page out of your book right now..
ReplyDeleteMiche from Buttons and Birdcages
The only thing that keeps me motivated at the gym while on the treadmill is silent competition with the runner next to me. Lol I know how horrible that sounds but I think we all do it. Whatever keeps you moving is my motto. Love this look!

HAHAH that's awesome. I totally think that too sometimes ;)
DeleteHaha I went full bare legs today and it was so cold outside! They say its supposed to get up to 75 today... here's hoping! At least I have a blanket at my desk to keep me warm, haha!

Gahhhh running outside is amazing, but I HATE running... I literally have to force myself like a big ol baby. It kicks my butt though which is why I do it. I am glad you finally are getting nicer weather!! Happy Hump day!
ReplyDeleteEleventh & Sixteenth
Yay for spring! I love your maxi skirt and am so excited to get to wear mine again too.
ReplyDeleteI totally say a Maxi skirt counts! I love it paired with the colorful scarf! It was in the mid 50s this morning here too and I went for an outside run, it was amazing!! Hope you're having a great day!
