That Vest Again

If I had to pick a few pieces of clothing to deem "summer 2013," I can guarantee you that this denim vest would make the cut. 

I've already declared my love for this vest here, but apparently I had to rave about it some more. I have my reasons!

For instance, it allows me to layer in the summer, which is one of the only things I miss about the colder weather. Though a simple dress on it's own can be very pretty and a lot of fun to wear, I find I have a lot more fun putting outfits together when there's more components involved. The vest works so perfectly because it's adding layers without being ridiculously impractical for hot and humid weather....like we had again today. Hence, the bun. Again.

Aside from just having more interesting and ultimately, more "me" outfits, I love to layer because I try to avoid being an outfit repeater. Of course, I wear the same elements over and over, like this vest, but I try to pair them with different pieces, so it seems like I've created something new. I think this is why people think my closet is larger than it actually is.

I guess I was sort of wearing something new anyways. Last summer when I was in NYC, my friend took me to UNIQLO for the first time. In all honesty, it wasn't really for me, but I still managed to find a top that I liked. The only issue was that I couldn't decide on black or blue, so I bought both and gave one to my mom. Somehow, it recently ended up back in my closet, so it's a new shirt to me.
