I have a bit of a weird complex when it comes to getting rid of things. It's not like I'm anywhere close to being a hoarder, but I struggle with getting rid of things sometimes, even when it's a bit ridiculous. Shall I elaborate?
Before I entered the corporate world, I spent a number of years working at a family-owned boutique, whose primary focus was premium denim. This was an amazing time in my life, and I have a lot of good memories from the days at the store. I also accumulated quite the collection of jeans, as you can imagine.
It's been a few years since I worked at the store, and while some of my jeans are still in rotation, many of them are collecting dust in my closet. Some of them don't fit, and some of them are a bit out-dated looking.
Every time I do a closet purge, I try to get rid of some of the jeans I know I'm not going to wear anymore...but I always struggle to let them go! I really don't know if it's because they're tied to memories of the good ol' days, or if it's just because I hate giving up expensive things. Regardless, the issue is definitely there.
But. It's not always an "issue."
I've been noticing that wide-legged and flared jeans are back in style, which means I've been eager to wear them again. Instead of going out and buying a pair, I remembered that I had some in my closet that I haven't worn in years.
Lesson learned. Don't get rid of stuff.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Do you have a hard time getting rid of old clothing too?
I have the clothes hoarding issue too… I keep thinking "But I might want to wear it sometime!!" It took me forever to go from flares to skinny jeans. Now I am not sure that I want to go back to flares… These look great on you! There is something to be said for hanging on to things - you know it all comes back around! (Although I really hope a lot of the 80s trends stay in the 80s…)

I love your blouse and belt! Especially the belt. It's a bit of a more subtle way to be in the spirit of spring!

I also get ridiculously nostalgic about objects, even if I won't ever use them again. You look insanely sexy in this orange top, and I love how you paired it with dark green (going to have to steal that color combo).

Classic denim styles while maybe not in fashion at the moment never go out of style. Flares are definitely one of those that always come back. And they look great on you!

So cute - those jeans look great! I do like to get rid of stuff at least twice a year, but I have a no-denim rule (jeans, shorts, jackets)now because those are the one item of clothing I always wear and regret the few times I have given them away.

I love flared jeans, always have and always will. It's the most flattering design of all. I own about 10 pairs, most of them old, but I keep wearing them :)

I know exactly what you mean about not being able to throw away old clothes! I don't know if you watch Community Channel on Youtube but she talked about exactly the same thing recently (here's a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leiP1KV-GX8).

I too struggle with letting things go - I feel like I rarely purge my closet, and then as soon as I do I want to wear an item I got rid of - not helpful for future purges :/ Anyway, You look lovely!
