Print and Mint

Happy Monday, indeed.

I pulled my first total blogger fail today. I put the finishing touches on this post last night, and scheduled it to post this morning.

I got into work, turned on my computer, and typed my URL into my browser to check on the post before digging through work emails...and then I realized that the post wasn't actually there. I thought I scheduled it incorrectly, until I saw the draft and realized the entire post was gone.

I shouldn't have been surprised, really. I was playing around with a few things last night, and did something weird with the coding. I closed the window in hopes what I did wouldn't save. Well, lesson learned my friends. Always double check that your work is saved....or try to remember what you wrote about in a post :)

The good news is, at least I didn't lose my photos - these are from my vacation!

Even though I was excited to style some of the pieces I shared in my last current obsessions post, there weren't too many opportunities to photograph any of the outfits. During the day, nothing I wore was actually presentable (read: bathing suit and cover up) and by the time I got dressed for dinner, it was dark outside. One day was pretty overcast, so I figured it was a perfect opportunity to style the shorts I had been itching to wear.

I see myself styling these shorts in a number of different ways in the summer, but chose to play off the subtle mint details in the pattern. I know it can be frowned upon to really "match" an outfit, but every now and again, I do it. I can't wait to remix these when it warms up!

OUTFIT DETAILS:

T-shirt - Gap (Similar) // Shorts - J Crew Factory (Same// Hat - (Similar)
Necklace - Brandy Melville (Same) // Clutch - Gap (Similar) // Flip Flops - Havaianas (Same)

Do you have any "blogger fail" stories like this to make me feel less silly?

  1. I love that print of shorts! And the way you pulled the mint color out of it is wonderful.
I have to confess that when i think of outfits like this, i myself would choose plain shorts and a printed top. I'll have to keep my eye out or perhaps sew some printed shorts for this spring/summer.
The colors in your clutch and bracelets give wonderful dimension and beach feel. I love it! carefree, yet stylish.

    1. Thank you so much for the sweet words! This is my first pair of printed shorts, but I really like them and have a lot of plain tees to wear with them. I'd give them a try, but maybe just don't make it a big investment until you know if you'll actually wear them!
