I hope you all had a nice weekend!
Mine was definitely a low-key weekend. With the snow storm we had on Saturday, I wasn't about to go anywhere I didn't need to be! After a busy week, I actually really like the occasional weekend like this past one. I know it's totally cliche, but I feel much more ready for my week now. I know, that feeling fades pretty quickly, doesn't it?
When I don't have much to do on the weekend, I find myself putting together the same sloppy, comfortable looks. Leggings, hoodies, Uggs, and a messy bun. I know there's nothing wrong with that, but it's not the most exciting way to get dressed.
One of the reasons that I felt my style was worth showcasing on this blog is because I like to put an effort into what I wear on a daily basis. I'm trying to impress myself in the morning, not anyone else. I strongly believe that if you're excited about getting dressed in the morning, you'll feel better about yourself. As a result, you'll feel better about tackling anything your day brings! I know it sounds a bit cheesy, but it's true.
Somehow, I find that I often forget this concept on the weekend.
Over the last couple of weeks, I've really been trying to make more of an effort on the weekend, even when I'm just running a couple of errands.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Sweater - Madewell // Vest - Gap (a few years old) // Jeans - Mavi // Belt - American Eagle
Necklace - Vintage // Boots - Roots // Bag - Roots
Do you feel like you put enough "effort" into your low-key weekend outfits?
Totally agree with you on getting dressed up to impress yourself. At the end of the day, your opinion of yourself is the only one that truly matters. That said I think you look amazing! I may have to take a page out of your winter styling book because lately it's been so hard to look put together when all I want to do is stay at home and out of the cold winter storm.
ReplyDeleteLove your striped sweater and even more in love with your vest. You look lovely!

Aww thank you so much!
DeleteI've really been feeling so uninspired with my winter clothes these days too. What's helped me recently was cleaning out my sweaters. I didn't get rid of a whole lot, but by refolding them, I remembered some of the pieces I love...which means it's almost like finding some new sweaters to mix in with the old!
Love the whole outfit! Specially the red and blue top!! You look so cute modeling in the snow!

I'm guilty of giving up on the weekends too. It often results in remorse because my clothes are neglected. I have so many cute casual outfits but the only items that make it out of the closet are my comfy clothes. Great winter look!!
ReplyDeleteI know, honestly, this is why I'm always drawn to comfy pieces that are ALSO stylish :)
DeleteThis outfit is amazing. That top looks so comfy!
ReplyDeleteTotally feel ya girl--I am the same way on the weekends! Then I tend not to have pictures I want to use as outfit post ha! This is a great look tho--comfy but stylish :) You look great!

It's only recent that I've looked this presentable on weekends. I think it has to do with the weekdays just being too cold and dark to take photos, so it's my only chance....and then I discovered, it's pretty nice to wear something that isn't gross. LOL
DeleteBeautiful cozy chic look! The contrasting colors of the top underneath are perfect for this!

I tend to wear sweats on the weekend for running around doing errands (and cleaning, and cooking, and laundry...) but I do always feel better when I look cute! Love your vest!

That vest looks super cozy. And I agree, it's so hard to find motivation to get dressed up when the weather's crappy and you're stuck inside.

I think you hit the "low key yet dressed up" nail on the head with this outfit. I love the striped top (clicking over to find one now). I try to dress up for the blog pictures as well, but some days, but in the winter, the motivation is just not there most days...

DeleteThis is a great casual look! That vest is amazing, such a great piece to dress up any button down :) I used to find casual dressing so hard but I really enjoy it now, it's fun to be put together but still casual
ReplyDeletexJennaD
So true. It can take a bit more thought to look at polished as you would by throwing on a dress, but it's fun to mix it up.
DeleteI'm with you! I dress for myself, and even if I don't leave the house (which actually happens a lot now that I'm a mom), I still have to get dressed up to feel good about myself!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I LOVE that vest!
