I'm a perfectionist by nature.
Always have been and probably always will be.
This is probably why I'm good at my job. I always want everything done properly, which also means that my clients are happy. If my clients are happy, then I'm happy.
Today, I had a client send me a pretty nasty email, which rattled me a bit. There's been a lot of back and forth on the project we're working on, and when they finally made a decision to move forward, the product they wanted was no longer in stock. Without completely boring you with the ins and outs of what I do at work, I can tell you that this happens a lot! Most people are understanding, realize it's not the end of the world, and work with me to find a solution.
Other people are just so difficult to work with, and no matter what, you just can't win. It's frustrating, especially because it just takes one negative person to change how you feel about the day. Honestly, when these kinds of situations arise at work, taking a few minutes away from the computer really helps me calm down at feel better equipped to tackle whatever the issue is.
It was finally nice enough outside (or so I thought) to snap some outfit photos! I ended up having to throw the coat back on pretty quickly once those winds picked up. The sun was shining, so I think that's what fooled me into thinking it was a nice day.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Jacket - Esprit // Sweater - RW & Co. // Shirt - Joe Fresh (suuuuuper old)
Pants - Citizens // Hat - Roots73 // Necklace - Target // Booties - Urban Outfitters
How do you manage to keep your cool at work when a client or co-worker just pushes your buttons?
Sometimes you just gotta shake them haters off, girl! LOL j/k
ReplyDeleteCute outfit, by the way (with and without the coat) :)

Thank you! I'm just sick of that coat already!
DeleteUgh tell me about it. I work in politics so sometimes the phone calls I get from people who complain about politicians and things that are way beyond my control. It's so draining and sometimes all it takes is one negative person to ruin all the great things that happened during the day.
ReplyDeleteThat said, it's been warming up out here too and I'm glad to see you taking advantage of the nicer weather! I so love your boots - the color is so pretty and chic!! Gorgeous! :]

I feel like sometimes, people just like to take their negativity from other parts of their lives out on us at work. Seriously, it's just the worst!
DeleteI actually got those boots because of the colour, since my go-to's are black and brown.
Another cute cold weather look! It's always a good idea to take a few minutes of "me" time even if you are at work and start fresh after a short break :)

Perfectionists unite! :) I'm with ya, girl. And can relate to dealing with difficult clients/partners. There's this internal client I literally want to STRANGLE right now. No adherence to process, no respect for the workload of others, sense of entitlement, etc. OY.
ReplyDeleteOn the bright side, you look super cute in this layered outfit. :)

OMG that would drive me nuts! I'm lucky that the people I work WITH are awesome, and so are most of my clients. Key word being most hahah

Glad that you were able to take a few snaps despite the day at work. Yes, taking a breather away from the computer always helps! :) great outfit. /Madison
ReplyDeleteGirl, I know what you mean. I've had clients blame me for everything, like them getting fired after filing a claim against their employer. I'm like..."what did you think was going to happen?" Haha Sometimes stepping away from the situation for a moment is the only way to keep your sanity. You look super cute by the way!!!

I too find that taking a break from my computer when things get a bit challenging is the best thing that I can do. It gives me a chance to clear my head, focus on something else for awhile, and come back to my work with a fresh perspective. It's essential for taking care of myself.
ReplyDeleteAlso, awesome outfit!
