If you follow me on Instagram (and if you're not...you totally should), you may already know that I was in Vegas recently. I was there on business, and it was actually the first time I've gone on a business trip. Amazing. If you're wondering.
It was also my first time to Vegas and while I didn't really get to explore too much, it was quite the experience. With almost every restaurant somehow tied back to a celebrity chef, the food was incredible, and it's just a crazy place to be!
I was also lucky enough to have an extra day in the area before flying back to Toronto. My colleagues and I decided it would be fun to rent a car for the day, and drive 4 hours east to visit the Grand Canyon. It really seemed too crazy to actually be true, but sure enough, we did it.
(Oh and if you're wondering, yes, I like my colleagues!! I can imagine this scenario would be an absolute nightmare if you don't, but we had fun.)
We made a couple of stops along the way, including the Hoover Damn, but finally, we reached the Grand Canyon National Park.
How can I describe the canyon? In a word, it's breathtaking. Honestly.
We were talking and laughing on the way up and as soon as we all caught our first glimpse, we just stopped.
I've seen photos before (and trust me, I took plenty), but they'll never do that view justice.
Beautiful pictures!!

Your pictures are gorgeous! You did such a great job of capturing the beauty. I can't wait to go there one day! Did you do the glass walkout bridge, because the very thought of it brings me near a panic attack?!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I actually didn't know about the walkout bridge until I got back, so no. I was pretty much freaking out if I got too close to the railing, so I'd be way too nervous to enjoy the walkout bridge.
Deletebeautiful photos!! looks like it was a fantastic trip!

Looks amazing. I have been coming around to the idea of a trip to Vegas and obviously would have to do a tour out to the Grand Canyon.
ReplyDeleteIf/when you make it out to the Vegas area, it's a must! Even the drive is pretty amazing :)
DeleteHaving only been to the US once (a trip to Disney World in my early teens) there are many places I'd still like to see in the States - the Grand Canyon is definitely one of those. These images are something else, so I can't even imagine what the actual view with your eyes would be.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you and your colleagues got some down time on your trip!

The problem is that there's just so many places to see! It's just crazy to visit any site, whether it's natural or man-made that's so widely seen in photos. That feeling can be replicated other places too :)
Deleteno, i haven't been to grand canyon. it's definitely very grand and spectacular!

Ok, I love that you went to Vegas for work. It is such a bizarre place. I have been twice. Most importantly - Did you see Britney?? Because I really want to go and see Britney. Glad you had a good trip!

Totally is the weirdest. Sensory overload doesn't begin to describe it.
DeleteAH - no, but I wanted to see Celine Dion SO badly (because I'm actually 67 years old). We had dinner plans the nights there was a show and I was seriously bummed.
How fun!! I would love to go to the Grand Canyon! Maybe our next Vegas trip we will ad an extra day to go visit!

I've never been to the Grand Canyon, but just from your pictures, I can see how it was a breathtaking experience. Have they finished that glass overlook yet? I heard something about it last year and it would be perfect for someone who is not afraid of heights.

Amazing photos! It looks like you had a fabulous time in Vegas with some spectacular culinary experiences to boot!
ReplyDeleteJackie these photos ARE beautiful! I am so jealous, I can't wait to go. I keep trying to sell my in-laws on this for our family vacay (hello helicopter tours!) but they insist upon Florida.

what cool photos!!! I have always wanted to visit there and you captured it beautifully. The unreal blue of the sky is just amazing. It's cold and snowy here in Kansas today, so thanks for this little trip to the grand canyon *swoon*
ReplyDeleteI love that you took a road trip to go see the Grand Canyon- that seems the best way to do it and so... iconic, I guess.
