For those of you that may not be aware, in the days leading up to Christmas, the city and surrounding area was hit with one of the worst ice storms in history. Aside from the dangerous driving and travel conditions, about a quarter of a million people were without power. Some of these people were still left in the dark days later, even though it was Christmas.
The only positive thing to come out of the storm are the beautiful photos that everyone is posting on social media. I'm happy to have seen all of these sights via photographs, rather than first hand because I was fortunate enough to have gotten on a plane southbound before the brunt of the storm hit.
Before the storm, I took some photos in the snow. It looks like a typical winter scene, but I don't think this area will look like this when I get back.
The snow was so bright, it was almost blinding. The sunshine almost helped fool me into thinking it wasn't completely freezing outside! Note - the keyword is "almost."

Yikes, that snow looks intense! Props to you for even venturing outside to take these pictures. I actually really like the last picture--it brings out the marbled pattern in the stone and it's a lovely contrast with your shirt and skirt.

It looks extremely cold there, so I'd say as long as the coat keeps you warm it's worth keeping. Love that colorblock cardigan, too. :)
