Wild Child

(Obvious) Trend Alert - Clothing with skulls printed on them is 'cool.'

.....uh. And?!

Yes, I know this isn't a new development as far as fashion is concern, but it's only recently that I decided I liked the idea for meI'm not sure why it's taken me so long to rock this trend, but it's probably because my style usually leans more towards the girly side of fashion, rather than the edgy side.

It's possible I just didn't look hard enough to find a piece that really spoke to me, but I think it has something to do with finding myself push the envelope a little bit more ever since I started blogging. I know, it's cliche to think that way, but that's probably because it's true.

Last week, I was feeling wild, so I decided to get really crazy with this skull top, and pair it with over-the-knee socks, an edgy necklace, and a skirt. It wasn't my typical style by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a fun outfit. That was just what I needed...because I love putting together fun outfits!

Outfit Details:

Hooded Sweater - Roots

How have you pushed the envelope in fashion recently?

  1. I like skulls as well - I've recently embraced them but like you it took a while. Love the styling here. The boots are so cute!

  2. Ooh, I like that tank! Love that necklace too! I love pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I should do it more often...but I'm so bad at finding something I love and sticking to it. I'm a routine kind of gal!

    1. I'm more or less a routine kind of gal too! I wear an oversized cardigan, skinnies, a chunky scarf and boots most of the time...

  3. Love this "edgy" look, LOL...I have a few skull items and they make this very preppy girl feel cool and edgy and like you said it's fun putting a look like this together :)

  4. This outfit is lovely, definitely something I would wear (on a regular basis)... if it wasn't Summer here, haha. I know what you mean about getting out of your comfort zone. As its getting hotter here (Australia) the "white" trend has transfered and although skulls are very much in my comfort zone, white is not. It's been kind of interesting incorporating white into my wardrobe but fun too. I'd be putting together an outfit I'd worn a hundred times but changed the shirt to a white tee and voila. Lovely outfit :)

    1. I'm envious of your summer temps right now!

Switching to a white tee is probably the best way to get a bit more white into your wardrobe. It's a lot easier to wear that than white jeans...at least, for me.

  5. You look so cute! I keep seeing the skulls everywhere but have not actually tried them yet. They're definitely outside of my comfort zone. Love how you pulled this whole outfit together :)

  13. What a great look. Thanks for posting. I don't know about you but even if I am wearing a look like this one that covers up my legs, I feel more confident if my legs are smoothly shaven. We're a shaving company called Dorco and we think every woman should be able to afford high quality razors. 16. You did amazing by going out of your comfort zone and wearing something you are not used to! In fact, I think we all should do that more often! :) It's such a great opportunity to find new things and improve our own style and sense of fashion!
