Time for Stripes

As someone who is no stranger to a good sale, it's probably assumed that I'm completely crazy about 'Black Friday' and 'Cyber Monday.' It seems like with each year that passes, more stores are jumping on the bandwagon and offering some kind of sale or discount. This makes it extremely difficult to ignore....or better yet, avoid.

However, I came to a realization a couple of weeks ago.

Apparently, I don't really need any new clothes right now. 

Don't get me wrong, there's a lot that I want, and there always is. There's quite a few larger ticket items on my (mental) wish list, and with one step into almost any store, I'll find something that I want to bring home with me.

That said, I'm just trying to be practical and resist buying things I don't need. I was surprisingly successful at avoiding any Black Friday purchases this year. I'd hardly call it willpower as much as it's just being a smart shopper. I know the deals weren't overly impressive and that the after Christmas sales are just as good! I'll make up for it later.

For now, I can successfully shop my closet. There's a few pieces I've been saving for a rainy day, and one of them was a dress that I picked up in NYC at Madewell. There's no Canadian locations, so it's even more exciting when I get to visit a store. 

The other day just felt like the right time to finally rip the tags off and wear the dress. I kept it pretty simple, pairing it with a cardigan, boots and a scarf. It's a go-to look of mine!
