One Skirt, Two Ways

For those of us that read a lot of fashion blogs, we all know that Philip Lim for Target has been.... everywhere.

I was probably the only person who didn't jump on the bandwagon right away. I didn't purposely avoid it, but I didn't realize it was going to be as nice as it was. I also hate crowded shopping and long lines, so I just didn't bother.

Sure, I'm a bit sad that I don't have one of those really nice bags that keeps taunting me, but it's not the end of the world.

When I did finally end up at Target a few weeks after the launch, I was surprised (and excited) to find a skirt in my size. I tried it on and fell in love with the style and fit. At first, I wasn't completely sure about it, since my heart was set on the coveted orange leopard print version, but now I like this one even better.

In fact, I love this skirt so much, that it's been in heavy rotation since it came home with me.

Since I have this "issue" with being an outfit repeater, I try to come up with new ways to wear it each time that I do. I thought it would be fun to show you two different outfits that I came up with, that both feature the skirt. I wore the first outfit to a friend's birthday dinner, and then I wore the second outfit to work. I was a bit more creative the second time around, since I've never paired flannel with a skirt before. I was also excited that it worked with the jacket I found in New York.

If I had to chose a favourite look, it would be the second one. Which do you prefer?

  1. So happy you found a PL piece - the skirt is so versatile! I love the second look with that jacket and I'm so jealous you get to wear layers of clothing and accessories, it is STILL 80 plus degrees in LA, so not even a sweater for me.

    1. I heard there's going to be another collaboration, but I don't think it's coming out until Feb. I may be a bit crazier on getting on the bandwagon the next time, but we'll see.

  5. I love the different looks you came up with! If you still want a bag, you should ask the returns counter at Targets. I had a friend who just last week asked if any Philip Lim bags had been returned and they had 2 for her to pick from!

    1. I actually did ask at one of the return counters and they basically looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked about the bags....

  17. I think the 2nd one of my favorite too! I loved this skirt when it first came out but I had to limit myself to only 2 items from the collab. Now I wish I had gotten it because it looks so cute on you!
