I'm just about stuffed to the brim from my feast today. I literally spent the entire day in the kitchen because I wanted to have a dinner with all of the trimmings! I woke up at about 8:00 and started some delicious butternut squash soup. Later, I whipped up some pumpkin pie, stuffing, and celery root mashed potatoes. My mom handled the majority of the turkey, but I was right in there shoving the herb butter under the skin to make it extra yummy and juicy.
Thanksgiving has been great, but I've had a great long weekend because I took off a couple of extra days and went on a little vacation to visit my friends. One of my best friends from High School got married and moved to New Jersey a few years ago. While I obviously wish they lived closer, I absolutely love going to visit them. I took a whole bunch of pictures on my little trip and I'm excited to share some of the sights, food and outfits....but that will come later this week :)
In the meantime, I wanted to share an outfit that I wore a couple of weeks ago.
I know it's been a while since my last post, but it isn't for a lack of being busy. Better late than never, right?
Back in the spring, I was in the J Crew Factory store and I fell in love with this navy lace dress. I really loved it and wanted to buy it, but I held off because the material felt a little too heavy for the spring/summer months and it was pretty expensive....especially for something I wasn't going to wear very much.
Lo and behold, in September, after I long forgot about it, I saw the dress again and it was on super sale. It just so happened to be my size, so I knew I couldn't say no again. Besides, now that it's cooler, I can see myself wearing it more frequently. I've worn it a couple of times with bare legs and booties, but soon I will pair it with tights and a sweater.
Outfit Details:
Dress - J Crew Factory
Jean Jacket - Hudson Jeans
Belt - Gap
Purse - Roots
Booties - Brown's Shoes
Necklace - Vintage
Arm Candy - Stella & Dot, Michael Kors, Banana Republic
Care to share any time you held off on something and actually got it down the road?
