Indecisiveness, at it's Finest

I hope everyone is having a wonderful (short) week. Mine feels extra short because I've been home sick with a summer cold. I guess Labor Day weekend was a little bit too much fun...as it often is, because it seems like I always get sick at this time of year!

The only good thing about coming down with a cold is that it helps explains why my run on Monday was abnormally difficult. It had been a while since I legitimately went for a run, but I have been active in other ways, so I had no idea why the run was so incredibly painful. Usually after a good run or workout, I feel amazing, but this time, I started to feel sick. BLAHHHH.

Even though I wasn't feeling so great, I went to work the next day. I know it's partly because I'm stubborn, but it's much more about my distrust of others and how I hate handing my work off to other people.

Wasn't it so much easier to take a sick day while we were students?!?!

#grownupproblems (sorry, I had to go there)

Because it was the first day of school, I woke up extra early. The traffic is always so nuts that first week back, so I thought I'd be smart about it and get a bit of a head start. Well, any "head start" that I had was completely irrelevant because I couldn't for the life of me decide what to wear. Honestly, I had like 3 different shirts on, a couple different pairs of pants, and even another cardigan on.

I'm usually pretty good about having a general sense of what to wear! I think it was that whole first day back complex that still haunts me about being a student. The first day outfit is like, a big deal (and probably one of the other things I miss about school).

In the end, I pulled it together and at the very least looked presentable for work!

Outfit Details:
Blouse - Aritzia (on super sale!)
Cardigan - American Apparel
Jeans - Black (so old...like, before boyfriend jeans were "cool," old)
Shoes - Aldo
Purse - Roots
Necklace - Target

PS - I feel like I need a DSLR camera. Any entry-level recommendations for someone who knows almost nothing about photography??

    1. Thank you so much for your feedback on the camera. I think I have to do some serious research before I take the plunge.

      I'm following back :)

  5. Whether you go canon or nikon, forgo the kit lens and buy a prime lens. the cheapest will be a 50mm 1.8 (about $100) this is what you need to get a shallow depth of field (blurry background) in your photographs. And really, that is the reason you want a DSLR anyway, right?

  6. It may have taken awhile, but this is quite a gorgeous and well put together outfit! I always go to work when I'm sick, I think it's because I feel guilty if I don't. I always regret it though haha! I hope you have a great Sunday!

    1. I always feel so bad to take a sick day. I think I've about 3 in my life to date because I just feel awful to do it.

Of course, I know people weren't thrilled to hear my coughing, but I know they wouldn't want to do all my work either!! LOL

  8. Marlen, thank you so much for your input on the camera. I will definitely look at the prices online vs in stores, because if I can save $200, I definitely will!!

  9. I love this look on you, even if it did take a while to put together! I know what you mean about when you get nervous and just can't choose something to wear. I love the print of that top, and those jeans look so great on you!
