To Keep, Or Not To Keep...

I have a 2-part question.

1. Why is it that when you're looking for something specific, you can never find what you're looking for?

This is often the question I ask myself when I'm shopping. Take my experience the other day, when I went to Buffalo to do a bit of cross-border shopping.

I decided that I would be on the lookout for a new pair of jeans, but I really wanted to find a pair of Hunter Rain Boots, and/or flat gladiator sandals to replace my pair that's falling apart. My plan was to wear a pair of old $3.00 flip flops and toss them before I came home.

Even though I had good intentions, I was highly unsuccessful in finding the boots or sandals. It's tough to be a Size 5 shoe. Most stores have minimal options to chose from, if any. It's a good thing I found a couple of tops, because I was extremely frustrated. Oh and the jeans? No luck there either. Naturally, the ones I wanted were sold out in my size. Typical.

I was however, very successful in my trip to Wegman's. I was able to stock up on my favourite yogurt, Chobani. Since these aren't available in Canada anymore, I have to bring a cooler in order to bring back enough to stock the fridge for a couple of weeks.

2. Why is it that when you're not looking for something, that's when you find it?

While I have trouble finding shoes on a regular basis, sometimes I can find a gem or two without even trying.

Today, the Bay (Canadian department store, for those who may not know) was having a one day sale, where almost all sandals were half price. SCORE! They didn't have a ton of selection for me, but they did have these really cute wedge peep toes...in more than one colour. DOUBLE SCORE!

Now I'm torn. I don't need both pairs, but I can't decide which ones to keep.

Both pairs, side by side...

Thoughts??

Do I keep these? Just one? Both?!?!

Also, am I the only one who finds themselves asking these questions?

  2. I vote definitely keep both wedges, they're super adorable! I have a similar problem when I'm out shoe shopping, I wear a 10 1/2 which is basically a non-existent size.

    1. Your issue with shoes is basically the same a mine. Often, when I ask for my size, I'm told they "don't carry them."

I'm sure not everyone is a 6-9 in shoes!

  3. keep them both, can't have too many wedges, lol. Stock up on chobani, yayyy ! I have the same problem with shoes, i am size 5 and for the most fabulous shoes that i like to buy, they don't come in size 5 w/c is super bummer!

    1. HA - these comments aren't helping ;)

Seriously, being told a shoe I love makes me so bummed out. The only plus side is that I don't have a super out of control shoe addiction.

    1. That's the problem! They actually are very comfy, which is almost as hard to find as size 5...

    1. Yes, I seriously love my Chobani. It's a bit of a problem.

Well, my logical side says I don't need both, but my shopaholic side is like, "hello - KEEP"

  9. as someone who owns the same pair of wedges in yellow and red, I say keep them both! I am not a good influence when it comes to shopping/spending money though lol.

    1. Me neither! If I was reading this post, I'd be first to say keep them both.

If someone so much mentions they are looking for something, I will ensure they find what they need and more if they're spending their own money!

  10. I ask those questions all the time! I always have a perfect vision of what I want to wear to an event like a wedding and then when I go look for it I can't find anything remotely like what I wanted. Or I'll find something that I've been searching for but when I have no money. lol.

  14. First of all, that's a lot of Chobani! And i would keep the navy/white striped ones, because they have a nautical feel to them that would be perfect with sundresses. And red shoes are easy to find, in flats or wedge form.

    1. I know, I have an addiction!

Shoes are never easy to find, which is why I had such a hard time making a decision.

    1. I'm trying to be "good" and not buy everything in site!

It's funny, there's lots of people with small feet, so it shouldn't be that hard. You are definitely lucky though!
