Strike a Pose

At this point, I know it's obvious that I'm just getting started with this whole "I'm a blogger" persona.  There's many skills that I'm no where near mastering yet and that's okay, because it's a learning experience. Aside from the technical aspects of having a blog that I know very little about, I know I need to work on getting those poses just a little more "natural-looking."

If someone has a camera, and we're out and about, I'm all over that. I have my signature smile and pose...you know, head tilted to one side, a big smile that shows the top row of teeth and usually one hand on my hip. Oh. That's essentially the first picture I have in this post. Typical!

I don't think there's anything wrong with having a good smile/pose ready to strike whenever there happens to be a camera. It's how you manage to have more good pictures than bad floating around the internet. That's what I tell myself, anyway.

This is why I had a lot of trouble the other day at work, when a couple colleagues borrowed me for a photo shoot. We're launching a new website and they needed a volunteer for the main page. For these pictures, I was told to look off to the side, rather than into the camera. While it was okay to smile, it wasn't supposed to look posed.

I can't even tell you how difficult that was for me. I haven't seen the final picture they're using, but I can almost guarantee that I'll hate it!

And now, some posed pictures of my outfit from that day...

  1. I LOVE that skirt, the heart print is adorable! props to you for agreeing to a photo shoot for a work website; even the thought of that makes me break out into a nervous sweat lol

    1. Thanks! That print also came in a phone case, but I thought it would be a bit "much" to get both :)

I was a total nervous wreck for the photo shoot, but I saw the final design and it's not too bad.

Thanks for stopping by the new blog :)
